Meet the Core Team

Meet Marie

Q:  Tell us about yourself
A:  I am 40-something years old (fyi: my e-mail addy has nothing to do with my age, well, maybe).  I am and have been happily married to my soul mate and best friend, John, since June of 1992.  I am also a mother to 5 beautiful blessings: Chris, Ben, Alyssia, Cecelia and Sam.  I graduated in 1990 with the pioneer group at Malone College with a BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) degree – at this point my RN does not stand for “Registered Nurse”, but rather for “Retired Nurse” (drum roll – pa rum pum).  I enjoy my time as a wife, mother and as a volunteer in parish ministries, other outside-parish ministries as well as civil organizations.

Q:  Tell us about your relationship with Jesus.
A:  My relationship with Jesus has come full circle – never to be denied nor ignored.  He is my example of charity, humility, obedience, strength, purity and sincerity.  And now that I understand who He is in my life and in the life of others, for that, I love Him.  His Passion for man astounds me, for that, I embrace Him.  He is there for me always, for that, I trust in Him and thusly surrender to Him.

Q:  Who's your favorite saint and why?
A:  I admire and am drawn to many, particularly the mystical saints – to name a few: The Little Flower, St. Gemma Galgani, St. Teresa of Avila, St. John of the Cross, St. John Vianney, St. Ignatius Loyola, St. Faustina and the like.  But if I could only name one, it would have to be St. Padre Pio for he has been a stronghold in my spiritual journey.  His way of life as well as his love for the Lord intrigues me.  He continues to be there for me to give me encouragement in my everyday life and throughout my spiritual walk, specifically in my prayer life.

Q:  What's your favorite food?
A:  I love crab legs and corn.  And anything that has to do with potatoes – skins, chips, scalloped, mashed and smothered with gravy – as Rachel Ray says, “Yummo!”

Q:  Special talent?
A:  Singing, gourmet cooking, giggling, juggling and multi-tasking – is that a talent?

Q:  Anything else, aside from your criminal history, that we should know?
A:  Shhh…I thought we weren’t going to mention that…just kidding!  Well, let’s see… I do not like roller coasters.  I am related to St. Ignatius Loyola.  And, oh yeah, Boyea is my hero.
